You may not know this about me, but but I have a favorite word...it is peace. Simply peace. Its 8:09 a.m. and my husband is at work, my oldest daughter is off to school and my 3 year old is still sleeping. I can smell my coffee brewing (it can't get done soon enough) and I have a little computer time! I never thought I'd value peace, quiet and alone time as much as I do now! Don't get me wrong...family time is great and I wouldn't trade it....but boy, when the only sound I hear is the coffee maker bubbling away in the kitchen it makes for one happy ME! Its almost October, right? Not too soon to break out my favorite Halloween mug....the kids have, afterall, dragged out a huge box of Halloween stuff that is going to clutter my house until nearly Thanksgiving because they love them so much stuff, so here's my contribution....
I have had all girl seniors this year! This is Stephanie. I drove "down south" for her session. We had to cancel once due to rain and I was anxious to finally meet her. When I arrived at the park the skies threatened to open and pour on us - and that is just what happened! We (Stephanie, her mom, dad, two sisters and me) all huddled together for about 20 minutes until the rain passed. It was gorgeous light when the rain stopped and the sun came out again...here are a few from our session:
How is it possible that my Chloe has started preschool? We found a great afternoon preschool program with a Reggio Amelia approach. Chloe will get to participate in all sorts of enriching activities including: art, music, Spanish, yoga and literature...she's already having so much fun! Here are a few snapshots andI grabbed as we were leaving for her first day (snapshots meaning the color is off, they are probably blurry and Chloe wanted to pose! but, they are her and I love them!):
That your little brother gets married - or that you "get" a sister in law that you love like a sister! My brother Ronnie got married earlier this summer - on June 2nd. I have been to a lot of weddings and I am not sure if it was because it was my brother or because of all of the thought that went into every little detail but this was truly the most touching wedding I have ever been to! Not to mention the MOST FUN ever reception! I think my favorite part was the stones. Ronnie and Kate had collected a jar of stones from the stream that runs through her parent's property. The jar sat at the entrance to the chairs. As guests came through each chose a stone. During the ceremony guests were asked to get their stones out and make a silent blessing, prayer or wish for Ron and Kate. As guests exited the chairs they put their stones back in the jar. Now, sitting in thier house is a jar of blessings, prayers and wishes from all their guests...I just love that! Oh, one other favorite part - it was an incredibly hot day and towards the back of the wedding area (that was in a meadow with blossoming trees, white chairs and yellow flowers) was a small table set up with a white umbrella. There was lemonade and tiny lemon cookies with yellow icing flowers for the guests to refresh themselves with while waiting for the wedding to start. Such a sweet little touch!
Here are some pictures that I was able to capture (between being mom of the flower girls and an bridesmaid). Lunelle of Troy Photography did a beautiful job of capturing the emotion of the day. You can see their pictures in a super fun slideshow on her website, under Recent and "Private Residence, Somers CT.

Jennifer and John were married at the McKernon Hospitality Center at SMCC. It was such a quaint location rich in history with beautiful views overlooking the bay. It was a small wedding with close family and friends - love was certainly in the air today! I love the one of Jennifer dancing with her dad - I have to admit that I am a crier - and seeing her dad singing quietly to her during their dance brought tears to my eyes! Oh, thats right! I have a sadly neglected blog that needs updating! Summer sessions are going beautifully and August is turning out to be a busy month! I have only one or two slots left for August and I am booking into September. If you are looking for a fall session send an email to: wyndee@wyndeegrossophotography.com so that I can be sure to get you on my calendar!
Senior sessions are also underway! Don't forget those yearbook deadlines. I thought I'd share some photos from a recent session - who also happens to be Christina's sister! Click HERE to see Jessica's slideshow!
